Back when I was in grad school I  hopped to avoid writing my dissertation in MS Word. One of my standard procrastination tools was to explore alternative word processing programs. After lots of late night contemplation and too many downloads of evaluation software, I determined that there were two things I needed to be able to switch off MS Word: (a) a decent word processor, and (b) Endnote integration. Unfortunately the only word processor with decent Endnote integration was MS Word – until this week.

At the Mac World San Francrisco Conference Apple announced that Pages now supports Endnote integration. I promptly downloaded a demo copy and it is fast, way faster than the integration offered with MS Word. Makes me excited about writing the dissertation all over again – well maybe not. But there is hope for my wife who is working on her Master’s thesis.
